The Symphony Orchestra

Founded by Sergey Lishchenko (Artistic  Director and Conductor) in 1993, the Mogilev Capella’s Symphony Orchestra is consistently hailed as one of distinguished orchestras in the Republic of Belarus, and also it is  well-known  abroad. The Orchestra has an wide repertoire, which includes music  works of Western European composers:

- A.Vivaldi, I.S. Bach, J. Haydn, V.A. Mozart, L. Beethoven, F. Schubert, F. Mendelssohn;

Pieces of Russian composers:

- M. Glinka, P.I. Tchaikovsky, D. Shostakovich, S. Prokofiev;

Music works of Belarusian authors:

- S. Monyushko,  O. Kozlovsky,  M. Oginsky,  E. Glebov,  V. Olovnikov.

Along with classical works, the orchestra performs symphonic compositions of Latin American composers, rock, jazz and pop music.

The festivals “Mаgutny Bozha” (“Mighty God”)  and “Zolotoy Shliager”(“Golden Hit”), city festive balls, international painters' open-airs  and other meaningful events are held annually  with the orchestra’s  participation.

 The Orchestra  gives  regular performances, constantly updating their concert programs with vivid music works of the past and present, attract numerous fans of classical music.


The CHAMBER  CHOIR  was  founded in 1989 and  became the first choir in  Mogilev which  performed  Sacred  Music:  

ancient psalms, motets, cants, choral concerts of V. Titov, S. Degtyarev, D. Bortnyansky, A. Archangelsky;

liturgies of  P. Tchaikovsky, P. Chesnokov, A. Grechaninov;

choral compositions of  A. Turenkov, V. Korizna, V. Kozhukhar, E. Atrashkevich and others.

 The Choir takes part in  festivals   and often becomes the winner of the Republic Festival of academic vocal and choral groups named after  G. Shirma, International Sacred Music Festival "Magutny Bozha" in Mogilev, laureate of the International Festivals of Church and Sacred Music in Poland.

The choir performs various concert programs at the International Sacred Music Festivals in France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, and Latvia.


Since the creation of the Mogilev Capella (1998),  musicians  prepare above 20 concert programs each year. They annually perform  more  than  70 concerts, that  attract  people of diverse ages and backgrounds. For example, concerts with lectures are  welcomed  in  comprehensive  schools. Teachers and children enjoy the sounds of the orchestra’s instruments and choir’s voices.

Through different kinds of  musical  projects  the Capella successfully implements “the trinity of goals ” - enlightening, education, upbringing.

Most of Capella's concerts traditionally consists of three parts: orchestral, choral and vocal-symphonic.  The Capella’s  team  prepares  variety of concert programs for memorable musical dates.

The Choir and Orchestra  perform concert programs systematically  at the International Sacred Music  Festival "Magutny Bozha".

The Capella holds the annual music forums "Mogilev Choral Council", Bach - Collegium, Mozartiana, Christmas and Easter concerts, as well as the musical project "To the Musical Olympus with a symphony orchestra" with the participation of laureates and recipients of a special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus for supporting talented youth.

Musicians regularly tour nationally and internationally to Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Latvia, Germany, France, Italy, China.

The Capella is featured by the performing universality, the ability to represent all genres of musical art - from vocal and instrumental miniatures to large compositions such as instrumental and choral concerts, cantatas and oratorios, liturgical cycles, symphonies,  and operas in concert performance.
